The Story Behind JORO Heritage

JORO began as a dream woven into fabric, a vision cultivated from the childhoods of three siblings in a family where textiles is a way of life.

Nimrat Kaur, Simrat Kaur, and Sahib Singh grew up surrounded by the art of design and meticulous craftsmanship that defined their family’s business.

Their father opened a fabric mill in Maharashtra, India in 1983, and their mother, director of the family business, instilled in them a passion for fabrics, fostering a deep appreciation for heritage and quality from a young age.

After studying in the UK, all three siblings spent several years working alongside their parents in the family business. The siblings honed their skills and understanding of the intricacies of textile design, gaining intimate knowledge of both traditional techniques and the evolving demands of premium home furnishings.

Shaped by family values, hands-on experience, and a deep appreciation for Indian heritage, the foundation of JORO was built.

Built upon time-honored techniques of sourcing the best materials and using methods practiced for generations, the fabrics that make JORO collections are carefully sourced for quality and sustainability.

Each collection is crafted with organic materials, including 100% certified organic cotton where possible, ensuring the highest quality home furnishings while supporting ethical and sustainable practices. Our plain cotton bedding and soon to be launched towels are GOTS-certified, ensuring they meet the highest standards for organic content and responsible processing.

This commitment to using natural fibers and maintaining sustainable certifications means that every pillowcase, duvet, sheet, and soft furnishing is free from harmful chemicals, making them not only kind to your skin but also to the planet.
