The Origins of JORO

JORO began as a dream woven into fabric, a vision cultivated from the childhoods of three siblings in a family where textiles is a way of life.

Nimrat Kaur, Simrat Kaur, and Sahib Singh grew up surrounded by the art of design and meticulous craftsmanship that defined their family’s business.

Their father opened a fabric mill in Maharashtra, India in 1983, and their mother, director of the family business, instilled in them a passion for fabrics, fostering a deep appreciation for heritage and quality from a young age.

After studying in the UK, all three siblings spent several years working alongside their parents in the family business. The siblings honed their skills and understanding of the intricacies of textile design, gaining intimate knowledge of both traditional techniques and the evolving demands of premium home furnishings.

Shaped by family values, hands-on experience, and a deep appreciation for Indian heritage, the foundation of JORO was built.

Old-World Weaving to Modern Homes

Inspired by the craftsmanship and heritage techniques of their family business, Nimrat Kaur, Simrat Kaur, and Sahib Singh founded JORO in 2023, sustaining their family's creative and cultural legacy.

Drawing on decades of experience, JORO combines the rich textile heritage of India with the demands of contemporary life.

Heritage is woven into every JORO collection.
